With regard to the typicity of the wines of the region of Trás-os-Montes, in addition to the existing diversity can be mentioned some traits common to all wines, white wines are very fruity, differentiating themselves by the minerality and taste balanced, this marked by a good acidity that gives them freshness and complexity.
In the case of red wines, they are characterized mainly by their freshness, which comes from the phenolic composition, revealing fresh and concentrated tannins to which time attributes elegance and character. They are wines with intense aromatic complexity, full-boed and with good structure which makes them very gastronomic wines.
The most representative varieties of Trás-os-Montes are Tinta Amarela, Bastardo, Tinta Gorda, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca.
